Common questions

It is generally a dry trap when these situations occur. Each drain has a U-shaped trap designed to hold a small amount of water to prevent sewer gases from traveling back through your plumbing into your home. When the trap is dry, there is no barrier, which is when a bad smell is present. If pouring water does not resolve the situation, you will need to call our professional plumbers to inspect your system to locate the problem thoroughly.

One of the advantages of hiring nearby plumbing services like ours is that the rates are more affordable because there are no transfer or distance fees. You can trust that we are close to you to provide faster service during emergencies.

We don’t recommend you to do this: leak detection is the result of years of experience and it’s not possible to do it if you have no experience or the necessary tools to make a good job. You may cause more problems instead of avoiding them, so be careful.

Probably leak detection would be enough if you have water leaks problems in your property. Nevertheless, don’t hesitate to ask a professional plumber what your plumbing problems are, so you can have a clear understanding about that.

It is always wise to consult a professional plumber when tackling any significant and unfamiliar plumbing issue. Sometimes it is tempting to “save” the money and try to fix it yourself, but in most cases, where you don’t have the experience in the type of service required, it will only cause damage or make matters worse.

We recommend calling our plumbers when faced with any plumbing issue such as clogged drains, leaky pipes, backed-up toilets, and even change of water pressure issues. This way, you can be safe in knowing that you got the job done right the first time without worrying about having to pay someone else in case something goes wrong.

This is a question for your plumber and may depend on the type of sink you have and how often your pipes get clogged. Some everyday things that you shouldn’t throw into the drain include:

nail clippings, hair, food scraps or grease, soap scum (from dishwashing), cooking oil (even small amounts), and cotton swabs.

To avoid getting a clogged sink, it’s essential to use filters in both bathrooms and showers to catch skin cells from hair follicles or lotion particles from washing brushes before they can enter the sewer system. You should also flush down toilet paper with water after using it rather than simply tossing it into the toilet bowl after doing a number two.

In the kitchen, various substances, materials, and organic ingredients that cause severe obstructions are used. Some of them are accumulations of coffee, fat that stays in the pipes, starch such as potatoes, pasta, rice, or fibrous foods that end tangled on the garbage dispatcher blades. Also, the bones and shells can cause obstructions.

Yes, several signs indicate that a drain cleaning may be necessary. For example, you may notice that your sink or tub takes longer to drain than usual; water may back up into the sink or bathtub when the taps are turned on, or you may see water pooling on the floor around the drain.

If you experience these symptoms, it’s essential to call a professional plumber right away. A qualified plumber can assess the situation and determine whether a drain cleaning is necessary. In some cases, a simple cleaning may be all that’s needed to get your drains flowing correctly again; but in other cases, your drains may require more extensive repairs.

Yes, of course. Tutorials on the internet can be helpful if you have a clogged toilet problem. Still, sometimes people don’t have the necessary skills to repair the problem by themselves, not to mention it’s always essential to have experience if you want to have good results. If the tutorials don’t work, look for professional help.

Under no circumstances you should pour boiling water inside a clogged toilet: it’s not effective at all, and it can damage your toilet system. Few DIY approaches can be helpful, but using boiling water is not one of them.
